Captain Confers - December 2014 |
We continued the activites theme throughout the term the first one being Rifle shooting apart from being a bit cramped everyone enjoyed the evening and Captain came out on top of the leaderboard. Something we have not tried before was an emergency scenario. At first the scouts were in shock but by the end of the evening they had learnt the correct proceedures and were even shown how to make a fake wound look lifelike. The next activity was Jamboree on the Internet where the Scouts conversed on the internet with scouts in other countries Our Scouts made contact with members in China, Canada, USA, Australia and Europe. They used the information they found out to run an evening with other scouts and by doing so gained the Global Challenge. Most of the Scouts took part in the Fright Night Hike and some of the costumes were very imaginative, Thanks to everyone who dressed up and walked with us. The evening ended with a fish and chip supper a film and a sleepover but even though the Scouts must have been tired not much sleeping went on. There were a few bleary eyes in the morning. The Cubs who will soon be coming up joined us for the activities in November’s the first was an evening of Archery and the second was Scuba diving. Both activities were really enjoyable and ones the scouts will be doing again. The final activity of the term was an evening trampolining at the new venue Gravity Force in Camberley. Afterwards it was off to KFC which is their favourite fast food then back to the hut for darts snooker and table tennis. Unfortunately due to Akela being called out we could not sleepover. Activities planned for Easter Term Shooting, donnutting lazerquesting, night hike, sleepover and cycle X relay, |
