Cubs

The Cubs had a great Camp in Frimley Lodge Park on the hottest weekend of the year. Apart from having to change the timings of some of the activities because of the heat everything went to plan. It was packed full of activities which included tracking, map reading, hiking, orienteering, assault course, a round of golf,  a ride on the miniature railway, wide games and a campfire. Its amazing what you can fit into a weekend. We continued with the camp theme when we met back after the holidays and were able to finish off the chef and navigator badges.

October was a very busy month with the Jamboree on the Internet, District Night Hike, an evening of rifle shooting and the group Halloween, the sleepover and Hike around Hawley Lake. Thanks to all who helped with all these events.

In November the Cubs used their firelighting skills they learnt at camp, to build a  fire  to burn their guys and make marshmallow smores. Very impressed most remembered how to light a fire and how to make the it safe. .A few Cubs gained their swimmer badge during an evening  at Farnborough Leisure  which was good preparation for following week when we joined the Scouts for some Scuba diving an activity we will definitely be doing again.

The District Carol Service clashed with school plays so not many Cubs were able to attend but those who were there did us proud. 6 Cubs went to the young Leaders First Aid workshop and gained the Emergency Aid 2 badge. The Christmas party was an evening bowling at the Farnborough Bowl everyone was really competitive and the scores were really close.

Activities planned for the Easter Term are donutting, lazerquesting, 6 aside football tournament 1st Aid training and entertainers badge workshop .
